Mental Model
The Map is Not the Territory
We operate by using a mental model of the world, not actual facts about the world itself. For example, if you believe that there is a boogieman in your closet then you will act as if there is a boogieman in your closet. The belief itself is a part of the mental model of the world and you react to it rather than what is actually in the closet.

Generalization
Generalization is the abstraction of several different concepts and / or experience into a generalized unit. For example, 'rock star' is a general term used to describe the general properties shared by all such 'rock stars'. There are several types of rock star ( alternative, metal, hard rock ) which all deviate from this model.
Generalizations can be said to be a type of 'functional stereotype'.
Belief
Limiting Beliefs
A limiting belief is a belief that limits the capabilities of someone.
Changing Beliefs
